With slightly over a week left until the Big Dance, you’ve undoubtedly been scouring Pinterest, food blogs, mags, and the like – in search of the perfect dips, wings, drinks, spreads, sandwiches, and other glutinous goodies.
In your search – let me point you in the direction of today’s dip – that unbelievably doesn’t contain cheese or bacon – but get this… real live veggies!
We lost a lot of good men out there today… at least they pummeled to their fateful end, inhaling the delicate perfection that is charcoal.
The people have spoken! Well some of you have spoken, but you’re my people, and that’s all the counts. General consensus seems to be that we need more non-mayo recipes in our summertime arsenal… so I listened!
No Super Bowl spread would be complete without a mass of cheese disguising itself as a dip, so here she is! This fondue-like mess is chalk full of yummy bits- jalapeños, chorizo, cilantro and tomatoes, just to name a few.
Creamy. Comforting. Classic. Tangy. Crunchy. Snappy.
The One. The Only. Old School Macaroni Salad! YEAH!!!
A cheese salad?! Yep… All cheese… All the time!
This salad turned lifesaver after a tubing trip this summer, and I’m sure it will do the same at your football gatherings.
The lime, jalapeno and cilantro in this salad pack a serious flavor punch. And then there’s cheese. Creamy, beautiful, wonderful cheese. I’d like to amend Ben Franklin’s statement… Beer AND cheese are proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.
Recently I’ve become obsessed with fried green tomatoes, thanks to my favorite local beer spot serving them up, all hot and yummy. After several plates of these little guys, I knew I had to whip them up at home.
What the heck took me so long?! Maybe it was that darn movie. With all that abuse and time jumping! Anywho, I’m now super smitten with these little devils, and I think Ruth and Idgie would be proud. These were easy, delicious and oh, so southern.
I can’t wait to turn these into an amped up BLT – some thick crusty sourdough, mayo, zesty sauce, thick maple bacon, crispy lettuce, and fried greens… NOM!
