Day late, dollar short. Week late, day early. However you spin it, there’s a method to my madness. Well, not really a method, but a reason.
This post was intended to happen last week, and the week got crazy. So why not post it tomorrow, on a Thursday? Because something beautiful is about to happen friends… booze and cookies!
I’m launching an all out Holiday – two weeks of cookies and boozy cocktails, starting tomorrow. But I love this recipe so much that I couldn’t just let her fall by the wayside. So here she is, in her beer, cheesy, glory!
When I looked back on all my football foodie posts, I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t touched on potato skins! Like anyone would pass up a hollowed out shell of the mighty carb queen, filled with cheese, bacon, and other sinful delights!
Going soft she is. Lots of vegetarian recipes lately.
What’s happened to the meat-lovin’ gal we once knew?
She’s still here, folks. Don’t want you thinking I’ve gone rogue on you!
“Are the green guys in yet?” “Just checkin’ on the green tomatoes.” “No green tomatoes yet?” “Are they here?!?”
I’m fairly certain the fine folks at my favorite farmer’s market are freaked out by my borderline obsession with green tomatoes.
I can’t help it… I love them!
“I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.” That’s what I was starting to feel like every time I checked the site. Four years of the same, and beginning to look to me like an old study, I could practically smell the musty books.
So don’t be alarmed – this is still your beloved site, just wearing her Summer clothes, with a bit of light and air added. I’ve been planning and wanting to revamp the site for ages, and while this is not what I had in mind, until the real site can be revealed, I had to make a change.
We survived the election, Thanksgiving came and went, we’re in the thick of a crappy football season (well, some of us), and the Christmas season has descended upon us out of no where. Who’s ready for a drink?
Breakfast – the breaking of the night’s fast, the best meal to enjoy at all hours, the best jump in your pump for a long day, the best foundation for a day of drinking! Wait, what?
Your usual Thursday parts of wit, pith, and mirth will be played this week by beer, cheddar and weenies.
Take these three ingredients in. Let them wash over you. Now go. Make.
The Fantasy line-up is set. The jersey perfectly rumpled. The beer cold. The chips and dip aplenty. Dish with clear line of sight of the southern sky – for maximum Sunday ticket reception.
It’s here dear friends. The day of days… NFL FOOTBALL!!!
Another Valentine’s Day is upon us, and before you go gettin all surly about whatever state your love life is in (or out), may I suggest celebrating this holiday with other intentions. Rather than scoffing at the ladies who get flowers in your office, or the heart shaped balloons floating over-head, or tacky lingerie with feather boas that line the racks, let’s use today as a reminder of all the people in our lives that maybe we’ve forgotten to show love. Who couldn’t use a little extra love, a smile, a thank-you, a “hey, thanks for listening to my crap all day long,” or the like? And of course, oh, of course, couldn’t these same people use an extra special meal in their lives?!
This dish of pork love is a showstopper, and paired with a gorgeous salad, which I’ll be sharing Thursday, and some creamy Mac n Cheese, which I’ll be sharing next week, it’s a meal fit for a king or queen.
This here soup was my go-to last year, so naturally when I went to make it for a nice Soupy Sunday post, my recipe was nowhere to be found.
This isn’t quite the masterpiece I’d tweaked last year but it came pretty darn close. With all the cheese I packed into this it turns out almost like a fondue.
