Ooey Gooey Pizza Dip

There aren’t many things I enjoy more in life than inviting friends over for cocktails, football and huge tailgate spreads.  Eating your weight in tastey morsels is not only totally acceptable, but required under these conditions, and I suggest you do the same.

One of the mainstays on my football spread is this insane pizza dip that my grandmother has been making for ages.  It could not be easier and I would encourage making two severings.  People will hover over this and remain until the lost bit of gooey goodness is gone.  Plus you’re chopping up ingredients already and it’s practically done for you.

Also, please don’t serve this with veggies.  You don’t bring sand to the beach and you don’t bring vitamins and nutrients to a heartattack in a bowl!

1 8 oz container cream cheese, softened
1/2 c sour cream
1 t oregano
1/2 t garlic powder
1/2 t crushed red pepper
1/2 c chopped pepperoni
1/4 c chopped green onion
1/2 c chopped green pepper
3/4 c mozzarella cheese
1/2 c pizza sauce

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix the cream cheese and sour cream together in a bowl.

Add oregano, garlic powder and crushed red pepper and spread along the bottom of a pie dish.

Spread pizza sauce on top.  Sprinkle pepperoni, green onion and green pepper on top.

Bake in preheated oven for 10 minutes.  Remove from oven and top with cheese.

Continue baking for 5 minutes.

Let cool for a few minutes and serve with chips.  Scoops work the best in my opinion!

  1. I’m going to one of my sons’ football team party. Do you think this would work? It would be served at room temp as it’s outside at a park? Even if I don’t make this for that it’s definitely on my list.

  2. Absolutely AMAZING dip – the only things I did different were add a 1/4 cup of diced jalapenos for a little kick, and went with a whole cup of cheese instead of the 3/4 – absolutely amazing! Thanks again for a fantastic recipe!
