Better Than Restaurant Guac!

guac

That green stuff in a jar has nothing on this homemade guacamole.  The freshness of the avocados, the tang of the lime, the earthiness of the cilantro – so delicious your flip flops will fly off!  Don’t let your local produce stand go to waste, run out immediately and snag these ingredients.  You haven’t experienced anything this fresh since Yo! MTV Raps!

Ingredients
2 large avocados
3 tbsp finely chopped cilantro
2 tbsp finely chopped green onion
2 tsp Kosher salt
sprinkle of garlic powder
3 garlic cloves minced
1/4 tsp chipotle powder or hot sauce
1/2 of a lemon juiced
1 lime juiced

Directions
Cut the avocado in half, remove the seed, and scoop out the flesh in a medium bowl.  Mash the avocados to desired consistency with the back of a fork.

Juice lemon and lime over the avocados to prevent browning.

Combine the rest of the ingredients, cover and refrigerate for approximately 1/2 – 1 hour.  Serve with chips or fresh veggies.

The recipe is just a base for any of the following ingredients:
corn, chopped red onion, mayonnaise, chopped Roma tomatoes, jalapeno, capers, black olives, red bell pepper.  Try adding any of these to your next guacamole recipe, they are all excellent!

  1. I usually don’t eat guac because of the raw onions and tomatoes but yay, your recipe doesn’t have any. (I can handle a little green.) Thanks for sharing, yo! 🙂

  2. I like my guac chunky, so cut all the vegaes and add your spice before mixing it all together with your avocados. Then, don’t overdo it. Also you need about 1/4 tsp cumin in there.
